Jacksonville Naval Air Station (NAS) - is the largest Nay base in the Southwest region and third in the nation.
A military airport located four miles south of the central business district of Jacksonville, Florida, it is one of two naval bases (the other being Naval Station Mayport) located in Duval County.
NAS Jacksonville is one of the Navy’s finest and fastest growing installations and is the recipient of the 2012 Presidential Excellence Award. As a master air and industrial base, Naval Air Station Jacksonville supports U.S. and allied forces specializing in anti-submarine warfare and training of the best aviators in the world.
Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base - is a base of the United States Navy located adjacent to the town of St. Marys in Camden County, Georgia, in southeastern Georgia, not far from Jacksonville. The Submarine Base is the U.S. Atlantic Fleet’s home port for U.S. Navy Fleet ballistic missile nuclear submarines armed with Trident missile nuclear weapons. This submarine base covers about 16,000 acres of land, of which 4,000 acres are protected wetlands.
Mayport Naval Air Station - is a major U.S. Navy base in Jacksonville, Florida and the third largest fleet concentration in the U.S. Mayport contains a protected harbor that can accommodate aircraft carrier-size vessels, ship’s intermediate maintenance activity and a military airfield. The third largest naval surface fleet concentration area in the U.S., Mayport’s operational composition is unique, with a busy harbor capable of accommodating 34 ships and an 8,001-foot runway capable of handling most any aircraft in the Department of Defense inventory.
Blount Island Command - is responsible for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Maritime Prepositioning Ships (MPS) Maintenance Cycle operations and oversight of the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program-Norway. The concept of a Maritime Prepositioning Force (MPF) was first envisioned during the late 1970s. In 1986, the Marine Corps established the Biennial Maintenance Command (BMC) at Blount Island, Jacksonville, Florida, as a subordinate command to Marine Corps Logistics Bases, Albany, Georgia.
